Non-Invasive Testing

Non Invasive Cardiovascular Diagnostic Testing

Our leading-edge diagnostic capabilities include a complete spectrum of noninvasive cardiovascular diagnostic testing.

Along with our highly skilled technologists and nurses, having the latest technology to detect heart disease allows our cardiologists to discover the potential problems in their earliest stages.

It also helps them to expertly manage patients with suspected or known heart and/or vascular conditions with testing that does not cause discomfort and is not complicated.

Types of Stress Testing

  • Exercise stress testing
  • Pharmacologic stress testing
  • Myocardial perfusion imaging
  • Stress echocardiography
  • Cardiac computed tomography (CT) scanning

These noninvasive tests can be performed in an outpatient setting, in a physician's office, in a hospital, or in an observation unit, as well as for admitted inpatients.

Multiple protocols exist for exercise tolerance tests. A bicycle ergometer or treadmill is most often used. The goal is to increase workload incrementally to induce ischemia or until a predetermined workload is reached.

An ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images of your heart and help your doctor identify important information.

A stress test, sometimes called a treadmill test or exercise test, helps a doctor find out how well your heart handles work.

A Doppler ultrasound is a test that uses sound waves to measure the amount of blood flow through your arteries and veins.

An echocardiogram (echo) is a test that uses high frequency sound waves to make pictures of your heart.
